I was trying to think of science experiments to do with my toddler that weren't too much of a mess (read: contained within a sensory tub) and I came up with this. You'll need:
- A sensory tub
- 5 cups baking soda
- 2 cups vinegar
- Food coloring
- Syringes (I stole mine from the hospital, yes I most certainly did)
All you do it put the baking soda in the sensory tub. Add food coloring to two different cups of vinegar and mix it up. Let your kid squirt the colored vinegar in to the tub using the syringes. If your child is OCD like mine, it will be pretty much impossible to get them to mix the colors without some force. The best part of this activity for parents is the fact that cleanup is easy AND the baking soda and vinegar mixture will clean your sink and drain out. Holy crap, amazing! Happy sciencing!
